Get Over Inner Conflict

Todays post is short and to the point because I want the unmistakeable message to resonate through your brain cells, register on your mental radar screen and rattle around that think-box of yours…

No, i’m not being redundant, i’m just making the same point three times in a row because it’s that important.

I want the singular meaning behind todays singular post to absorb your consciousness with singular clarity.

EVERYONE.

I repeat.

EVERYONE.

at one point or another, deals with “inner conflict…”

People who figure out how to turn that into a challenge, or a force that helps them, or some kind of a game that they need to beat… SUCCEED.

2012 and Beyond~! My 13 Goals for 2013

As I take my seat on this stool again, It’s hard to believe that 2012 has flew by so quickly…

It was a solid year of very thoroughly examining my priorities, creating an effective working environment, and serving some wonderful clients.

I am truly blessed to be here and fortunate to get to wake up to the life I have created through many years of hard work and dogged determination.

There is so much in store for you in 2013 I almost don’t even want to start explaining it because it would take PAGES to write…

But the Traffic Academy 2.0 Launch WILL be in January even if it IS the last day!

Should You Give Your Music Away For Free? Thank You Amanda Palmer.

Allow me to be searingly direct… I think the root of the issue that so many independent artists don’t fully realize yet, is that they’re NOT selling music anymore.

They’re selling an experience. At a deeper level, aside from the stage presence, pyrotechnics or lack thereof, this includes their story, what they represent, what they are SAYING.

Successful Artists and bands, whether they realize it or not, whether it is sculpted and massaged, artificial or authentic, they are doing this really well.

You understand that it’s about ATTENTION. Everyone has ADD. Our culture is attention poor, and we are like fidgety little kids who can’t play with the same toy for more than 5 minutes before going on to something else…

The One Word Answer To All The Problems In The New Music Industry

*Update: I am Officially Renaming This Post The TWO word answer to all the problems in the new music industry… CLARITY + FOCUS.

No offense at all to the client I’m referencing, but I find it a classic quote and it’s the perfect seque into a topic i’ve become very familiar with and a point I want to drive home for Modern Artists and Bands primarily. Although, the concept is certainly relevant to any form of career-content creator.

When I asked you to paint me a picture of what it is you really want, what your ultimate goal was, what your highest level musical vision looked like for you and your band…

The MusicPreneur

That time in the evolution of history that we’ve been dreaming about as artists and creative professionals, is. now.

For every sentiment echoed since the birth of civilization that a creative thinker or music maker have ever uttered that went like.. ONE day the MACHINE, the system, the big-guy, the boss, the “THEM” will pay!

For the rest of our foreseeable future a new music industry HAS finally emerged.

It’s evolution and opportunities are now readily apparent and self-evident to those that see with any degree of depth.

Yet, in most cases the psychology across the vast majority of independent artists and creative professionals remains unfocused and primitive.

Do It Yourself (DIY) vs. Do It FOR Me (DIFM)

As an independent artist you’ve likely become grossly aware that there is a mindset you need to RID yourself of entirely to survive in the New Music Industry.

I’m of course talking about the DO IT FOR ME Attitude.

Now, i want to distinguish what the “Do It For Me” attitude IS, in relationship to what the “Do It Yourself” attitude is.

It is glaringly obvious that MANY MORE of us musicians need to seriously embrace the Entrepreneurial Mindset, and AT LEAST understand BASIC Business and Marketing, if not outright devote a YEAR OR MORE of your life studying and applying the principles of genius marketers and leaders…
