As I take my seat on this stool again, It’s hard to believe that 2012 has flew by so quickly…

It was a solid year of very thoroughly examining my priorities, creating an effective working environment, and serving some wonderful clients.

I am truly blessed to be here and fortunate to get to wake up to the life I have created through many years of hard work and dogged determination.

There is so much in store for you in 2013 I almost don’t even want to start explaining it because it would take PAGES to write…

But the Traffic Academy 2.0 Launch WILL be in January even if it IS the last day!

Marketing Strategy For Musicians

You’ve been telling everyone you know for the last month. Your dilligent and reliable street team has distributed two thousand flyers, and you’ve repeatedly notified your email list and social media channels. You’ve done it RIGHT this time. You’ve turned your show into an EVENT. You’ve incentivized this performance with a raffle and a little extra promotional effort than usual.

You and your band have prepared for this one. Calmly, there is a mutual nod of confidence and cumulative assurance that you have done an outstanding job getting ready for this one. You briskly take the stage and feel that rush of excitement… That pure feeling of “dude, this is going to be FUN!” You’re past nerves.

Never Stop Being The Learner

You know i sometimes find myself getting caught up in an ego-centric battle of how much more i know than someone, or how i must have ALL the answers, or how much knowledge i have, or how superior my intelligence is to that of a mere mortal, rah rah rah…

I’m not going to lie, lots of people do lot’s of dumb things. But it’s not about how much any of us knows… It’s the simple stance of saying hey, i’m open to seeing and understanding different viewpoints, i’m suspending my need to find what or why i’m right, i’m letting go of the possible fear that by not being the EXPERT i am inviting possible defeat, possible judgement…  By readopting this attitude of being “the learner,” that i had grown accustomed to which easily gets lost in the world of business and cynicism and negativity and difficult people… Just seems that makes everything peaceful again.

Biggest Things I Learned in 2011

As 2011 wraps up, i’ve taken some time to reflect on all that’s happened this year, and i’m kind of inspired by just
how big of year it has been. Aside from quitting all nicotene for good, TOTALLY NAILING my fitness and
health goals, and successfully getting a business of the ground…! I completed all the outstanding court
crap… The judge actually waived my fines and costs, and thanked me, it was amazing!

I was consistent and persistent all year, and although i didn’t hit my financial goals, i’ve learned that there are
things i cannot control, and that i shouldn’t set goals that rely on things that i cannot control. Most of all i’ve
learned that i shouldn’t be so hard on myself.

All Fines and Costs Waived Probation Completed

Today was an incredible day, and although i don’t spend much time writing or talking about myself i thought i’d share the short story of a victorious day.

On OCT 27 2010 I woke up on a jailhouse floor, my head pounding against a slab of concrete. Unaware of how i got there, and unsure of what happened to my jeep, plus thousands of dollars of DJ equipment.

I later found out that i had passed out in my jeep a couple blocks away from a party i was DJing for my buddies birthday.

A year of probation later, i was struggling to make the payments for the fines and costs involved from my incident last year.

TuneCore Offering Music Publishing For Songwriters

TuneCore a successful digital distribution company is attempting to cut out the middle men for independent songwriters and artists.

TuneCore Songwriter Publishing Administration Service

Their service offers to register our songs with the respective performing rights organization, and then collect the publishers share for our songs and pay us.

This is potentially a major step forward for independent songwriters, artists, and bands in the new DIY music business…

I say potentially, because we’ll see how it goes. It is still hot on the scene, however they’re growth as a digital distribution platform indicates a successful track record.

How much are they charging?

Its a one time setup fee of $49.99, and it takes 10% of what it collects for you.

Quick Update on Operation Quit Nicotine.

Quick update on operation quit smoking…

After 6 days cold turkey, i’ve resolved to two cigarettes a day.

And so far, so good…

At this point i’m definitely proud of my progress.

I had basically decided to get healthier, on my own accord, in one of the most “transitionally stressful” times of my life.

i am proud of that. I believe i’ll enjoy the rewards of my persistence if i continue to filter this habit out of my day.

It’s now been 24 days without a cigarette – with the exception of one victory cigarette last night after several beers and the conclusion of Annual training 2010. My final “extended duty” for the army!
